What is Beads of Courage?
Beads of Courage is a nonprofit organization that supports children and teens facing serious illness. Through a unique bead program, each bead marks a treatment, procedure, milestone, or act of courage, helping children tell their story and recognize their strength throughout their medical journey.
More than 60,000 children worldwide have received Beads of Courage, creating meaningful reminders of resilience, hope, and determination.
How You Can Help
July is Dominique & Anne Marie’s birthday month, so they decided to spend it focusing on collecting handmade glass beads here at Terrapin Glass. All beads collected will be donated to Beads of Courage and distributed to children who need encouragement during their healthcare journey.
Rental Information:
This torch rental time is for pre-approved Flame Shop renters at Terrapin. If you are unsure of your status, please email us at office@terrapinglass.com.
We are hosting a special event for Beads of Courage. To participate, you must be able to turn the torch on and off, operate the torch safely, and create beads without staff instruction. The rental price includes mandrels, bead release, and COE 104 glass. Terrapin will handle the cleaning and shipping of all beads to the Beads of Courage organization.
Rental Details:
– Scheduling: Torch rental is booked in 30-minute increments per person, with a one-hour minimum.
– Time Management: Your reserved time includes setup and breakdown, so please plan accordingly.
– Booking: Stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select each half-hour block you wish to reserve individually.
Cancellation Policy:
- Payments are non-refundable
- Reschedule with 48+ hours’ notice (via email)
- If you’re sick or the weather is an issue, email us by 9 AM the day of class to reschedule
- No-shows or late cancellations forfeit payment
