Botanical Forms Workshop
An Intermediate Borosilicate Sculpture Class
With Kim Savoie
Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the process of shaping molten glass into delicate botanical forms such as marigolds, roses, daisies, and other garden-inspired blooms. Bring drawings and ideas that we can bring to life in glass! Participants will learn how to gather, heat, and manipulate borosilicate glass rods in the flame while developing techniques for forming petals, stems, and layered floral details. The class will cover essential skills, including heat control, shaping techniques, and adding dimension to create lifelike flowers.
This workshop is ideal for students with some flame-working experience who are looking to expand their sculptural skills, though adventurous beginners with patience and curiosity are welcome. By the end of the class, each student will complete several unique glass flowers to take home.
