Welcome to the Flame Shop at Terrapin Glassblowing Studio!
Looking for a special, quiet bonding experience with your child (ages 7–11) before summer comes to an end?
We’re excited to offer a special Parent & Child Glass Dragonfly Class!
Our flame burns at 3,000 degrees, so our regular classes are reserved for ages 12 and up. But we know younger artists are eager to give it a try! This class is specifically designed so you and your creative kiddo can learn together safely.
You’ll work side-by-side at the torch, sharing the experience of melting glass and creating two dragonflies, one for each of you!
Class Details:
- Approximately 45–60 minutes, designed with your child’s attention span in mind.
- During the first 20–30 minutes, you’ll learn how to create the wings.
- Then you’ll make the bodies and assemble your dragonflies together.
- The Studio is private—only registered participants are allowed in the studio during class.
- Your glass will not be ready to take home that same day.
- We recommend signing up for shipping when booking your class.
- If you live locally and would like to pick up your glass, it will be ready 24 hours after your class ends. Please use our pick-up calendar to schedule a date & time.
- If your glass is not picked up within two weeks of your class, it will be recycled.
If your little one is ready for a break before the project is complete, no worries! Dominique will finish reinforcing the dragonflies, add hanging hooks, and make sure they’re sturdy and ready to display. If your child is captivated by the magic of the flame, they’re welcome to stay for every step of the process.
Cost: $120 per parent/child pair (includes both dragonflies)
Available on weekdays only to provide the calm, quiet atmosphere needed to safely enjoy and respect this fiery medium.

Cancellation Policy:
- Payments are non-refundable
- Reschedule with 48+ hours’ notice (via email)
- If you’re sick or the weather is an issue, email us by 9 AM the day of class to reschedule
- No-shows or late cancellations forfeit payment
Location:
79 Hadley Road, Jaffrey—enter at the first door on the blue side of the building. Wheelchair and ramp accessible through an alternate entrance. Just give us a call when you arrive!
