What is Beads of Courage?
Beads of Courage is a nonprofit organization that supports children and teens facing serious illness. Through a unique bead program, each bead marks a treatment, procedure, milestone, or act of courage, helping children tell their story and recognize their strength throughout their medical journey.
More than 60,000 children worldwide have received Beads of Courage, creating meaningful reminders of resilience, hope, and determination.
How You Can Help
July is Dominique & Anne Marie’s birthday month, so they decided to spend it focusing on collecting handmade glass beads here at Terrapin Glass. All beads collected will be donated to Beads of Courage and distributed to children who need encouragement during their healthcare journey.
Class Information:
Take a one-hour beginner class where you sit at your own torch and craft as many beads as you’d like within the hour. No prior experience needed! We’ll show you how to do it and guide you through the entire process.
You keep the beginner beads you make, but all instructor beads made during your class will be donated towards Beads of Courage
Cost: Special class price of $65 per person – Regular price $85 per person
Age Requirements:
- Ages 12+ welcome
- Under 18 must attend with a registered adult (21+)
Class Details:
- Limited to 1–4 students per session
- Studio is private—only registered participants are allowed in the studio during class.
- Your glass will not be ready to take home that same day.
- We recommend signing up for shipping at the same time as booking your class.
- If you live locally and would like to pick up your glass, it will be ready 48 hours after your class ends. Please use our pick-up calendar to schedule a date & time.
- If your glass is not picked up within two weeks of your class, it will be recycled.
Cancellation Policy:
- Payments are non-refundable
- Reschedule with 48+ hours’ notice (via email)
- If you’re sick or the weather is an issue, email us by 9 AM the day of class to reschedule
- No-shows or late cancellations forfeit payment
Location:
79 Hadley Road, Jaffrey—enter at the first door on the blue side of the building. Wheelchair and ramp accessible through an alternate entrance. Just give us a call when you arrive!
Gift Shop:
We no longer have a large retail space, but check out our “Pop Up Shop” (open depending on staffing).
